T

he neonatal intensive care unit, commonly known as NICU, is a highly specialized healthcare unit designed for the treatment and intensive medical care of newborns. Our NICUs are embedded with state-of-the-art medical equipment, advanced support systems for vital organs, such as HFOV(SLE 5000) and services, and a team of highly skilled medical professionals dedicated to providing specialized care for neonates. It is worth noting that newborns in need of intensive care often fare better when they are born in a facility with a NICU, rather than being transferred after birth.

The Department of Neonatology at MCCHRC is specializes in the care of neonates with extremely low birth weight (under 1000 grams) and severe asphyxia. Sick surgical infants, diaphragmatic hernia, complex congenital heart disease, and babies with renal failure requiring PD (Peritoneal Dialysis) management. These services are rendered through a 21- bed neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
