In due course of time the hospital has expanded and our ICU is now included among the largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of all north-eastern states in India.

The hospital has a 14 bedded Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) named Lungnila Elizabeth PIC, dedicated to the late Lungnila Elizabeth. Her memory lives on in our commitment to protect and heal every child who comes through our doors, to the best of our capacity.

The opening ceremony was held at the premises of the hospital on the 18th of December 2019, in the presence of late Lungnila Elizabeth’s father Francis Ngajokpa and his family members.

On the same day, CMD of MCCHRC, Dr. Kh. Ratankumar Singh, announced that one PICU bed will be reserved for families who cannot afford intensive care. This commitment means complete coverage of all medical expenses – from the bed itself to consultations, investigations, equipment, procedures, and even super specialty referrals.

The initiative is the first of its kind in the state and our way of ensuring that no family has to choose between their child’s health and their financial security. The Lungnila Elizabeth Paediatric Intensive Care Unit aligns with the altruistic vision of Mother’s Care Children Hospital to serve the society and needy at large. Through this dedication, we remember Lungnila in every child we treat and every life we touch.

Mother’s Care Children Hospital as a charitable institute has been on the forefront in initiating noble causes. The institute provides free emergency ambulance service, and Dr. Kh. Ratankumar Singh personally conducts free pediatric consultations on Sundays.
