Mother’s Care Children Hospital & Research Centre
I am deeply grateful to introduce our dedicated children’s hospital in this underserved region, where healthcare often falls short for our little ones. The heartbreaking contrast between our pediatric healthcare and that in other metropolis in mainland India has driven us to make a change.
Many newborns arrive without access to proper resuscitation facilities or qualified caregivers. Limited beds and inadequate infrastructure lead to preventable disabilities and deaths. Caring for these vulnerable children is challenging yet profoundly rewarding—witnessing a rag-like infant getting pink and kicking in few minutes is a blissful experience.
Affordability is crucial; healthcare that isn’t accessible is ineffective. We strive to keep costs low and provide concessions for the underprivileged. In the past, we had to turn away patients due to a lack of beds. To address this, we established the first 100-bed dedicated children’s hospital in the Northeast India, focusing on advanced neonatal and pediatric care with 24/7 emergency services. Despite challenges, we believe that treating patients with dignity and respect can enhance our capacity to serve more children.
Recognising the need for surgical care, our facility includes a reliable neonatal and pediatric intensive care unit and the expertise of a pediatric surgeon. Our latest advancement is a fully equipped cardiac unit, providing 24/7 support for complex congenital heart conditions.
In 2019, we launched the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) Post-Graduate Program to train future pediatric specialists, welcoming students from across India.
We have achieved significant milestones and we have been treating rare diseases , provided surgical finesse to small newborn with Complex Heart disease, brought smiles to many children with malignancies. Each day, we reflect on how to improve the experience for parents seeking care for their children. We remain committed to excellence in pediatric care and wish all our children long, healthy lives. Thank you to the parents who partner with us in this vital mission.
