Every year MCCHRC arranges two CMEs which is a significant learning opportunity not only for the doctors and nursing staff of MCCHRC but also for doctors of other hospitals.

Breast Feeding Awareness

MCCHRC, from its initiation, has always been an ardent supporter and advocate of breastfeeding. Every year, with a sincere effort to generate awareness about the significance of breastfeeding and to promote breastfeeding, we celebrate the World Breastfeeding Week. Throughout this week a pictorial exhibition is held, displaying different norms of breastfeeding, the benefits of breastfeeding, etc., at the OPD area of the hospital. A weekly clinic is opened on  lactation management to promote , educate  and empower young mothers  and create advocacy group.

Health Camp

Health Camp at Moirang INA Memorial Complex on the 12th September 2010 organized by the Management Team of Mother’s Care Children Hospital and Research Centre, Imphal With a firm commitment towards promoting health awareness among general public especially the rural masses, we undertook a program of outreach service at INA Memorial Complex Moirang, on the 12th September, 2010. The programme consisted of (a) Health Awareness Session and (b) Health check up of sick children.

Basic Neonatal Ventilation Workshop

This workshop was held on the 4th of December 2015 – Dr. Kanya Mukhopadhyay, Professor, Department of Neonatology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, Dr. Kanithi Ravishankar, Neonatologist, Sowmya Children Hospital, Hyderabad and Dr. Reeta Bora, Associate Professor were the resource persons.

Initiatives at Fairs and Festival

During the 10-day Sangai Festival, the hospital organized a Best Mother Challenge where participating mothers were quizzed by representatives of the hospital about their breastfeeding practices thereby assessing their awareness about this most natural phenomenon. Prizes were distributed to the winners at the end of the event.

In a similar event during the 9th International Imphal Trade Fair 2013, organized by the North East Trade Fair Association (NETFA), a breastfeeding awareness programme was organized by MCCHRC in association with BPAM.
